Unique, handmade pottery

The pottery I create is largely wheel-thrown and altered. Many of the glazes are made in my studio, though I do use some commercial glazes as well. I specialize in functional pottery that is intended to be used but also aesthetically pleasing. Form, function and craftsmanship are the basis of my work, but I let my creative freedom and influences from nature guide my designs. Therefore, as you explore my pottery you won't see a body of work limited to one color scheme. I work in collections of colors and forms so I can explore all of my interests. When I set up at a gallery or show, I make sure to have fluidity within my designs and I have found that people like to mix and match the options. I have colors, such as jade green, that I have mixed for over twenty years and it is still appearing on my work today. Keeping some consistency within such colors and designs is one way my work has fluidity in style.
