Form and Function

The pottery I love creating is functional and rooted in tradition. Many pieces are thrown on the wheel and then altered by carving designs or pressing in textures. In addition, I have found a greater appreciation for adding in handbuilt pots or embellishments. I'm always looking for ways to incorporate my passion for nature, textures and colors within each collection and to create a balance between traditional pottery and modern life. I often work within a series or season, and I tend revisit themes over the years, making modifications as I view work with fresh perspectives.
